Thiruchendur Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple

Thiruchendur arulmigu subramaniya swamy temple. Thiruchendur is the site where Lord Murugan sits as a nanaguru, The place of worship of Mahamuni Agathiyar and Adi Shankara.  Thiruchendur Pillaithamil Kumarakurubarar’s Gander Kalivenpa is a special place where many works have been received. Thiruchendur is also known as Kapadapuram in the Valmiki Ramayana. Apart from the Puranas, the Sangam literary texts such as Akananuru Purananuru Silappathikaram have also been praised.

Thiruchendur is the second of Murugan’s six shrines. Although there are many shrines to Lord Murugan in Tamil Nadu, there are six shrines dedicated to the deity. Thiruchendur is the only place where Lord Murugan, who went to slay Surabathman, stayed with his forces. But will be celebrated as the Sixth shrines along with the other five temples as padai veedu.

In the Sangam period, the texts were written in such a way as to conquer poverty. And to point out the whereabouts of a person and to comfort him by saying that poverty will end wherever you go.

Thus Murugan, who bestows grace on the grievances of the people, composes a book called Thirumurukaaruppadi, which tells of the pride of Nakkira in the sense that we can get His grace if we go and surrender in 6 shrines.

Later, the river sites were called Aarupadai. The six temples are in the same order as he sang. Of these six temples, Thiruchendur has five other temples. Thiruchendur is the only temple located on the ground floor of the beach.

However, there is a report that Thiruchendur was located on a hill called Kandhamadana Parvatham. Also known as Chandana Malai, and that the salt air had dissolved a little due to the passing of several thousand years.

Tiruchendur Temple Hill

To confirm this news, we can see today that a small part of the hill is slightly exposed like a hill near the Perumal Sanctuary and the Valli Cave in the second section of the temple.

Guru Jupiter, the Guru of the Gods, repented at Italam (place) for chanting Surabathman for the vision of Lord Murugan.  The guru of the devtas, repented at Italam (place) to perform the Samharam of Surapadmana.

This time he was appointed as the commander of the army of the devtas. Weerawakudevar Aru Mugan invades Surabathman and the army marches furiously with millions of soldiers. Murugapperuman came and stayed in Thiruchendur after destroying many monsters he encountered on the way.

There he also defeated Surapadmana for victory. Guru built a temple with Devadachan Mayana to worship shiva in order to give thanks for the victory. That is the Thiruchendur temple we visit today. Because the Guru of the Gods, Jupiter, visited Lord Murugan from Tiruchendur and received blessings.

dhaksinamoorthy said asura history to murugan in tiruchendur temple

Before destroying the asuras, Kurubgavan told Murugan the history of the asuras at Italam (shrine). That is why this temple is known as guru stala. Mehta dhaksinamoorthy in Prakaram sits on four seats as Kurma Ashta Nagas Ashta Elephants Mehta Mountain. The 4 Vedas are in the form of parrots on the stone tree behind him. People call him Gnanaskanda Murthy because he is blessed with knowledge and wisdom. dhaksinamoorthy, who usually wears Agni in his hands, is seen here with a deer ax.

It is said that worshiping Lord Murugan at Thiruchendur on the day of Guru shift will reduce the evil effects caused by the Guru. People call him Gnanaskantha Murthy because he is blessed as an enlightened deity. There are 24 theerthams located here to cure the sins and diseases of the devotees who come to this place.

Among these theerthams, the nalikkinaru, arampam well is very special as its origin is in the sea and it is said that one can get the benefit of bathing in the sea by bathing in the sea. This theertham was created by Lord Murugan to quench the thirst of the soldiers while he was camping here to destroy Lord Surapathman.

Tiruchendur Temple Theertham

Bathing in this theertham, which was touched by Lord Murugan, will bring us various benefits. In a well-like structure to look at, water is still seeping in from a tank just 24 square feet deep. It is said that bathing in this theertham, which is a spring of pure water on the surface of the salty sea, will cure our s ns and diseases.

The originator of the Thiruchendur temple is known as Subramania Swami. It is even more special to have four dignitaries here, Shanmuganathar Jayantinathar Kumaravidangar Alaivai Perumal. Everyone is important in every matter.

Poojas will be held for Moolavar Subramania Swami in Kumara Tantra system and for Lord Shanmugar in Shiva Agama system. Since Moolavar Subramanian is in penance as an idol of wisdom, his penance should not be dissolved and he should not be do piratatcanam .

At the same time Ursavar Shanmugar has a special Thiruchendur that is not found in any other temple. A total of eight lingams are consecrated here, two lingams on the left side of the Subramania Swami sanctum behind the lingam Ursavar Shanmugar and five in the hand of the serpent at the back of the sanctum.

They worship only the three lingams near Subramaniam and Shanmugam. It is said that Lord Murugan still worships the pancha lingams and the deities visit these pancha lingams in the month of margali. The main deity Shanmugar Moolavar Subramanian Swami appears to be slightly taller idol.

Dutch invasion Thiruchendur temple

He has a long history. During the Dutch invasion in the year 600, gold jewelery, diamond ornaments and idols of many temples in our country were looted on a large scale.

From this note the plunderers of Thiruchendur took the idol of Shanmuga with jewelry money paintings but their ship was caught in a great storm. The idol of Lord Murugan has fallen into the sea and has faced the cruel situation of not having some major exaltations.

Thiruchendur The idol was consecrated by Vadamalayappa Pillai, an ardent devotee of Lord Murugan, who ruled Nellai Seemai during the reign of King Thirumalai Nayak at that time. One day the  Lord Murugan Shanmugar, who appeared in the dream of Vadamalaiyappa Pillai, realized the place where the idol was submerged in the sea through some clues.

The idol was then re-consecrated in the temple on January 29, 1653. Today we can see the traces of salt water as the idol of Shanmugar was in the sea water for some years.

Veerapandiya Kattabomman, the ruler of Panchalankurichi, had a habit of eating only after the daily peak puja at the Thiruchendur Murugan Thiruchendur temple. A little more than Thiruchendur and Panchalankurichi so Kattabomman made an arrangement to know that the puja was over in Thiruchendur and set up Murasu halls every three or four kilometers from the Thiruchendur temple to his Panchalankurichi palace.

Every time after the pooja at the Thiruchendur Murugan Temple, the sound of the Murasu is heard in the first hall of Thiruchendur and the sound of the Murasu is heard in the second hall. This is how the sound of Murasu reaches the Panchalankurichi Palace. Today we can see that some of the halls built by Kattabomman are in a dilapidated condition.

Kanda Sashti Festival

Kanda Sashti is celebrated on the day when Lord Murugan wakes up on the waxing Sashti in the month of Iapasi. Millions of people may be on he beach The internal purchase of seawater during the Surasamahara event continues today.

Similarly, the tsunami that struck the Bay of Bengal on December 26, 2004 could have caused severe damage to the coastal villages of Tamil Nadu and caused any danger to Thiruchendur. This is the glory of Lord Murugan.

Indra marries his daughter Deivana to Murugan to win the war against the monster. On the last day of the Kandasashti festival, Murugan will go on the road with Deivana. The people  will give an enthusiastic welcome to Lord Murugan who is getting married in their hometown.

Similarly, Lord Murugan is associated with the trinity (mummurtti) here. To mark the occasion, an event featuring the trinity (mummurtti) of Lord Murugan is still taking place in Thiruchendur. During the festival of the month of Masi, Lord muruga is portrayed as an aspect of the trinity as Lord Shiva Brahma and vishnu.

On the evening of the 7th day of the festival, he will be seen in a red robe as  Sivaperumaan, the next day on the eighth day in the early hours of the morning in a white robe as an aspect of Brahman and in the afternoon as a green robe as  Perumal.

Poojas In Thiruchendur Temple

Thiruchendur is a place where people are able to speak fluently. So Lord Murugan is the best gift for those who do not speak and those who do not speak properly.

Those who wish to participate in this puja should inform the office of the deity in advance, obtain a ticket and go to the Moolavar Sanctuary in the temple to pay obeisance to the Lord by chanting hymns from Gander Kalivenpa blessed by Lord Kumara when the Moolavar Archana will be performed.

Thiruchendur is the place where Adisankar got sick and sang Subramania Bhujanga Pamala. The temple is thousands of years old and is a testament to the service rendered to the temple by numerous kings such as the Pandya Nayaka kings and the kings of the Samasthana of Travancore at different times.

This particular feature was due to the presence of Lord Murugan here as a sage. Due to this many yogis used to live on this site. Eventually the tomb of life here has also been reached. Among them is the Tomb of the Silent Swamis Kasinatha Swami Arumugasami, who dedicated his life to temple work.

If we surrender to the deeds of Lord Murugan, the master of arts in Tiruchirappalli, he will not only free us from the harassment of the evil enemies in the external world, but will also bless us with the indestructible forces of desire, anger and lust in our minds.
